Protein Powder is the key ingredient

Protein powder, you exclaim?!  This is the magic that transforms the icy strawberries into a creamy, fluffy, sweet concoction.  The kids will love it, the hubby will love it, everyone will love it…so keep it to yourself, ok??  Otherwise, you won’t get any!!

This Magic Ice Cream is also healthy:

  • Strawberries are a rich source of vitamin C and manganese and also contain decent amounts of folate and potassium.
  • The yoghurt provides probiotics (and a lovely rounded tartness).
  • The protein powder helps to build muscle, repair tissue, and make enzymes and hormones.
  • it is very slimming, with no fats, sugars or carbohydrates.

Give it a go today – and let me know how you enjoyed it. Your waistline and body will love you for it. I guarantee you won’t look back!

Yield: 1 serving
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

This fat-free, sugar-free, instant ice cream recipe will have you wondering how it's healthy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, frozen
  • 1/3 cup yoghurt or any other kind of liquid (see notes).
  • 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or strawberry flavours are sublime)

Instructions

  1. Blitz the strawberries in a food processor until a powder-like consistency.
  2. Add the protein powder and blend again to disperse.
  3. Then, add the yoghurt and watch the creaminess unfold.  It is a delight to behold and to taste.
  4. You are very welcome.

Notes

This recipe needs a little bit of liquid to emulsify the mixture.

I normally use yoghurt, which provides a bit of tang that makes the ice cream taste like frozen yoghurt!

However, if you are vegan or intolerant to dairy, a dairy free substitute such as coconut milk, cream or yoghurt would work just as well.

It's the protein powder that does all the magic, the yoghurt is only to provide a liquid to emulsify it all, so any liquid would do.

Lemon Juice would be a lovely non dairy, low calorie, plus it would add the nice tang to balance out the sweetness of the strawberries and protein.
