I’m a mama of three young boys and recently I’ve been going a bit mad over bedroom ideas. With young boys, you can have so much fun with bright colours, snappy patterns and vintage toys. In this article, I’m sharing my favourite bedroom ideas. If you’re a boy mom looking for bedroom inspiration, you’re going to LOVE these bedrooms!
1.
This looks like the bedroom of an aspiring world explorer! From the globes to the treasure chest to the iron mongery, this bedroom is perfect for your adventurous young boy. The dark green colour scheme is great for promoting sleep – but it’s masculine, too!
2.
I’m in love with the eclectic colours of this young boys’ bedroom. The pops of yellow and orange work really well with the sage green walls and cream walls. The wall-mounted shelves show case all the boyish stuff but in an artistic way.
3.
I’m a massive fan of built-in bunk beds. They’re a great way to make use of vertical space in an aesthetic way. The grey-blue paint is super calming, too – important for a young boy!
4.
This is great inspiration for those working with smaller spaces. The bed-drawer-desk conglomeration is a great way to have all these items without taking up valuable floor space.
5.
A few well chosen accessories and neutral walls mean that it’s easy to switch up this boys room as your son’s interests change. Boys rooms never have to be boring, but they can evolve with your boys if you make clever design choices like this bedroom above.
6.
Vintage thrifted furniture is a great way to make your boy’s room look stylish on a budget. Vintage furniture is usually better made, with more details, and it’s cheaper than buying new. Definitely make thrifting a priority if you’re looking to refresh your boy’s room on a budget!
7.
Aren’t those gingham headboards just gorgeous?! I love the way this bedroom decor is classic and chic yet still masculine. It’s a win for everyone!
8.
This is just super cute. From the wall tiles to the vintage car to the half-painted wall details, everything is cheerful, yet coordinated and stylish. I love the pops of mustard yellow, which just gives that childish joy.
9.
You can’t go wrong with matchy-matchy. It just looks co-ordinated and is extremely pleasing to the eye. I love the beading details of those wooden posted-beads, the gingham curtains and the wooden panels on the walls. That Persian rug just makes this space look so warm and cosy!
10.
Those green gingham walls are everything. Everything else in this room is pretty neutral, but those walls just give life and vibrancy to this room. It’s so perfect for young boys and emulates that energy.
11.
This is a super cute young boy bedroom idea. It’s probably better for 6 year olds and under, since it utilises more neutral colours and cuddly toys. But I just love (I’m saying that a lot!) the wallpaper – paint combo on the walls, the cosy duvet and the quaint basket storage under the bed. Functional and very artistic!
12.
Now this is animal decor I can gt on board with. This room has been styled very cleverly, as all the boyish elements are accents (floor rugs, pillows, wall art). This room can grow with the inhabitant, by simply swapping out these accents. The bones of this room are neutral and versatile.
13.
Blue is my favourite colour, and I love the use of this masculine shade in this boy’s bedroom. The blue wall panelling coming half-way allows for that pop of colour without being too dominating. That blue is a dark shade, but it has been paired back with cream accents and lighter fabrics, which create a welcoming vibe.
14.
This beachy bedroom idea is just perfect for young boys. The rattan furniture and light wooden bunks are super laid back and relaxing. I love how the mural painting behind the bunks creates movement akin to a wavy beach, which has a real calming effect. This is a bedroom that would suit boys of all ages.
15.
The simplicity of this room is perfect for young boys (and older boys, for that matter!). The deep blue bedding gives off masculine vibes, but everything else is neutral, making this a versatile space for changing interests.
16.
The green of those bunk beds is one of my favourite colours. This room has cleverly used multiple patterns on the beds, walls and bunting details in a way that seems coordinated. It’s so fun and energetic – perfect for little boys. I can just see my boys in this room, laughing their little heads off on that top bunk!
17.
Wow, I was instantly calmed by the colour on those walls. The iron bedsteads look so striking, and contrast beautifully with that cream dresser. While this room is a dinosaur theme, for little boys, I can easily see it adapted for older boys by simply swapping out the duvets and wall art. Very clever!
18.
The geometric elements in this room are so boyish and fun. I love the warm rusts, reds and mustards – they’re warm and inviting. This room would suit boys of all ages.
19.
Now this room is FUN! I just love how many boyish details there are. This space reflects how much the little inhabitant is loved and cared for, and that just touches my heart. The strings of bunting are super cheerful, and those wooden pegs would be so handy! An aesthetic way to achieve functionality. I love it!
20.
I saw that vintage car sooo many times when trawling through young boys bedroom ideas. Maybe it’s a sign? This is such a fun space, and I love the contrasting effect of the dark blue with the cream. It’s a combination that’s satisfying. I imagine this room would be really easy to keep clean, too!
21.
This is so USA! The checks to the bold red stars and that fabric lamp. I love how this space is boyish yet crisp, neat and stylish. Instead of a poster tacked to the wall, for example, that super hero is framed and his outfit goes with the general decor. There’s no need to sacrifice style to create a boy-friendly space!
